This book is so indepth and really gives you all the knowledge you need in order to understand this deck.

I honestly wish this author would make a book like this for other decks as well because it's very on point and educational, filling you in on every possible way to read each card.

Each card goes into the following:

  • Keywords
  • Symbolism and Traditional Meaning
  • Psychological Meaning
  • Jungian Meaning
  • Esoteric Meaning
  • Kabbalistic Meaning
  • Astrological Meaning
  • Numerological Meaning
  • Science Fiction and Fantasy
  • The Card in Readings

I really enjoyed the Science Fiction and Fantasy part as it used examples from Star Wars or Dune to give you an idea of the cards meaning in those situations.

The Card in Readings helps you to understand how to read the card for each reading situation such as love, work, education, relationships, and personal development.

It gives you a way to understand the break down of each card on every level.

Then at the end the author talks over the 10 card spread and what each card is representing in the reading.

Lastly they cover the Reverse Meanings of the cards.

This book was so insightful that I plan on buying myself a hard copy for highlighting and note-taking purposes.

If you are trying to learn how to read these cards or just want to understand them better than this is DEFINITELY the book for you.

I just finished reading Goodwell's Tarot: Little White Book, and wow, it absolutely blew me away! This book isn't just another tarot guide - it's like having a chat with a wise friend who knows all the tarot secrets and is eager to share them with you.

Elizabeth writes in a way that's both deep and accessible, making the world of tarot feel welcoming to newbies like me, and still rich and intriguing for the pros. What really stands out is how she delves into both the Major and Minor Arcana with such care and detail, which isn't something you see often. The gorgeous photos of the classic cards are just icing on the cake.

She also mixes numerology, Jungian psychology, and even bits of sci-fi and fantasy to keep the reading spicy. It's like she has taken the tarot cards and laid out a whole world of meanings and stories around them, which makes you think and lets you interpret the cards in your own way.

Reading this book felt like unlocking a treasure chest of insights. Whether you're just starting out or you've been reading tarot for years, there's something new and exciting on every page. Elizabeth Goodwell really knocked it out of the park with this one, making a guide that is not only comprehensive but also a joy to read. If you're into tarot, whether just curious or seriously hooked, you need to grab this book. Thanks, Elizabeth, for such a fantastic read - it's definitely earned a permanent spot on my shelf.

Very detailed, 1000+ pages

The book is a great reference guide for browsing but also for quickly looking up symbolism, keywords or various meanings attached to each card.

Compared to other tarot books I collected over the years Tarot: Little White Book is very detailed, with 1000+ pages. It covers numerology, Jungian psychology, science fiction and fantasy and other aspects of interpreting the cards during readings. It also has enough examples to get a feeling for the cards.

Noteworthy: Unlike other tarot books Tarot: Little White Book covers the Minor Arcana in as much detail as the Major Arcana and comes with beautiful photographs of each card from the Rider-Waite-Smith deck of the early 1900s.

What also stands out positively for me is that the author put effort into making this a reference guide.

If you are like me you know how distracting it can be to read a "complete", "ultimate" or other guide to tarot where it becomes difficult to tell apart whether the author is giving you their own interpretation of the cards or a more well rounded and comprehensive take, often wildly mixed together.

If you are looking, like me, for a comprehensive take on various interpretations and angles, this helps for readings: I think you will like this book.

The title is fitting, Tarot: Little White Book makes a great companion for newbies as well as more seasoned fans of the tarot and I wish it had come along my first Rider-Waite-Smith deck.
